This two-day course is designed for those who need to understand, in theory and practice:
- how law and policy govern groundwater management in Australia;
- the contexts in which water agencies administering these laws operate; and
- the key challenges that groundwater law and policy will need to confront in the future.
As well as delivering these foundations, the course will make reference to overseas experience, noting the comparative innovation of Australian law and policy, as well as areas in which further law and policy development needed. The course will comprise seminars from leaders in academia, government and consulting, participatory workshops focused on case studies, and broader discussion.
Who should attend?
Lawyers, professionals in consulting, research and public agencies. Prior experience in law or policy is not required, however a basic familiarity with groundwater processes will be assumed.
We can tailor this course to meet your organisation requirements or community. Our education unit can adapt any of our high quality courses to suit your needs or develop an entirely new program specifically for your organisation.
