Fractured Rock Hydrogeology

Course description

Fractured rock aquifers are fundamentally different to other types of groundwater systems. Methods traditionally used for groundwater investigations in porous media aquifers are not directly applicable to fractured rocks. This course will cover state-of-the-art methods for investigating groundwater flow and contaminant transport in fractured rocks. Topics will include hydraulic testing, solute and contaminant transport and groundwater modelling.

Who should attend?

Practicing hydrogeologists, consultants, hydrologists, engineers and students in government, industry and academia should strongly consider attending.
